Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor

She gave up her job—to swim with the fish..
Here’s the video of her swimming..
I couldn’t even believe this.. Maybe when I was 6 watching “The Little Mermaid” I had dreams of being one.. But now? No way…
Is there one thing you always wanted to be??
Mermaid fanatics do exist in Canada, as you can find them posting on message boards and purchasing tails around the Internet. But there isn’t a formal mermaid group for Canadians — yet.
Space Diving…
Basically sky diving… but from really really REALLY high up!
Sound like fun…? Sounds almost like death to me. However I would like to go sky diving. But falling for 35 km… that’s a long time. It will take him about 10 mins to fall to earth.. He’s not doing a normal jump either—he will be jumping from a helium filled weather balloon. This 42 year old man is pretty brave… plummeting to the earth around 1110 km/h…with just a mere parachute to save his life.
He will be sooo high up that he will need to be in a pressurized space suit complete with air tanks…
Not to worry though, he has started training.. How you train for something like that is beyond me..
Here’s the thing though… What if he chickens out… He is out of luck—that balloon will just keep rising and rising..He can join the men in space I guess (he’ll have the suit)
Think you would like to try this?

Reasons why THIS ^^^^ Won’t happen when I’m watching your kids.
I am a GREAT pick to baby sit your kids this VALENTINES DAY because:
1. Cheap—I charge $0 an hour, it doesn’t get better than that
2. I passed the baby sitting course—100% thats right JC I beat your 98%
3. At the ripe age of 3 I took care of my doll, complete with baths, clothing, changing diapers, bottle feeding, AND hair cuts! A word to the wise—doll hair, it doesn’t grow back (meaning I had a bald baby after a while) I was born to do this!
4. Who said you could ever be too old for Barbie? So what if I still play with toys?
5. I’ve got two beautiful nieces of my own… And when EVER I get the chance I volunteer to take care of them. Did I mention I am their favourite aunt?
So when it comes down to all the DJs here at Mix 100, who do you want? ME!
Get yourself signed up to win a night out with your sweetie this Valentine’s Day! We will provide dinner for two at the Explorer Hotel… and Baby Sitting services from JC and myself! All you have to do is send an email to info@cjcd.ca as to why YOU should win!
DINE WITHOUT THE WHINE with Mix 100!!
Cheers

A Homemaker
“That’s not a real job!” Probably the least accurate statement that could be made. Endless “To-Do Lists” Countless hours preparing meals, cleaning, organizing, kids homework… I’ve done it, maybe we all have at one point or another.. Taken my mothers job for granted. What should a homemaker actually be making for all their day to day duties, 365 days of the year? Here it is all broken down:
Private Chef
Meal preparation is one of the major tasks of most homemakers. From breakfast to dinner, there is plenty of meal planning and cooking to be done. $52,260 per year.
House Cleaner
A clean and tidy home is the foundation of an efficient household.Typical cleaning duties include vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, scrubbing sinks as well as loading the dishwasher and making beds. Professional maids or house cleaning service providers will charge by the hour, number of rooms or square footage of the home. $6,136 per year.
Child Care
Homemakers provide full-time, live-in child care. This type of service from a professional provider would usually come with a host of perks including health insurance, paid vacation and sick days, federal holidays off, dental and vision coverage, and bonuses. $31,200 per year.
Driver
A private car service might seem like a high-end luxury to most, but the beneficiaries of a homemaker get this service on a daily basis. $4,168 total per year.
Laundry Service
Clean clothes come at a cost when you have to pay for the service that most homemakers do for free. Professional laundry services charge by the pound $936 total per year.
Lawn Maintenance
Basic maintenance of the exterior property is a less common, but possible duty of a homemaker. This could include things such as mowing, debris removal, edging and trimming the lawn. $1,560 total per year.
The Bottom Line
Total for a year of all services is: $96,261 per year.
But lets be honest a Homemaker in general contributes a lot more to the home in addition to these tasks, and no amount of money can fill those needs.

The loss of a fellow Canadian. To lose someone so young and passionate about what they do. Sarah Burke died yesterday surrounded by family. She suffered from irreversible brain damage after a fall while training on a halfpipe earlier this month.
Prior to the news of her accident, I’ll admit, I knew nothing about her. But reading into everything that this young, beautiful woman has done for Canadian Skiers and the sport is truely amazing. She was a fearless competitor, always pushing herself, wanting nothing but to be the best. And some may say she was the best at what she did. She was a four-time Winter X Games champion and a gold medal Olympics hopeful. Her passion about the sport and its development from day one is the reason that Superpipe Skiing will make its Olympic debut in two years in Russia, where Burke likely would have been a favourite for the gold medal.
Although she will not be able to compete, I hope that when that day comes she will be honoured…and I know she will always be remembered.
The news of her death has flooded social media outlets everywhere with people offering their support and love to the ones she left behind. And now her husband and family has been left with a LARGE medical bill to pay. I couldn’t believe it when I had read that over $94,000 had already come in today from people all over. The support and kindness in peoples hearts is unbelievable, and it puts a little warmth in my heart to see. If you feel the need to donate a fundraising website has been set up by Burke’s family. https://static.wepay.com/sarah-burke.html

Katy Perry’s New song… Well not so new, it’s a re-release of “The One That Got Away” Filled with emotion, this acoustic version really shows she is struggling with the recent divorce with Brand. This could be the most ‘raw’ track you have heard from her. I think this is the way the song should be sung.. and I love acoustic. What do you think of it?

Are you superstitious???? Avoid doing these things today!
Friday the 13th! — It’s bad luck to:
Begin a new job or a trip
Cut off both ends of a loaf of bread
Flip your mattress
Put new shoes on the table
Leave your hat on the bed
Walk under a ladder
Pour water on a windowsill
Plant potatoes
Lean a broom on a bed
Open an umbrella indoors
Do housework
Wear new clothes
Cut your hair
Sneeze to your left side
Have a black cat cross your path
It’s good luck to:
Cut your finger nails on a Friday to avoid a toothache during the month.
Take candy to a friend during your first visit of the New Year.
Pick the first violets of spring.
When you set the table, place the salt down first.
If you drop a spoon, expect friends to drop by soon.
If your left hand itches, money will come to you.
When you move to a new house, take a broom and a loaf of bread with you.
Put a red bow on a newborn baby.
Don’t sweep dust out the front door or you’ll sweep away good luck.
Make a wish when you see the first robin of spring. If it doesn’t fly away before you finish wishing it’ll come true.
Cheers!

BALD BARBIE… could be the new thing. Seems odd, but it really is a sweet story. A young girl going through chemo had a special one-of-a-kind bald beautiful Barbie made for her. It makes sense, shows that even Barbie (a beauty icon, in the eyes of girls) can be beautiful even without hair! This has created a huge push on social media to put dolls like that one into MASS production. I think it’s a great idea, what about you???
Heres the Facebook page.. Check it out for yourself! http://www.facebook.com/BeautifulandBaldBarbie

These girls are going to freak when they find out about this…
Never, ever, ever do I plan on stumbling upon this channel.. while channel surfing—not even for a seccond! I think my ears would bleed.
Its basically a Much Music channel for those tweenies… and I think I am allowed to say this is absolutely the worst idea ever! My reasoning? Well I know what you’re thinking… “You were a tween at one point too, and would have loved it”
Not exactly. I was never into the Boy Bands.. like N’Sync, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, hey I didn’t even love Britney Spears.. I grew up on my parents music—classic rock, and the influence of my older siblings.. 90s Grunge and all that. And I am soo happy.
So getting back to the Biebs… Yeah he has got his own channel…well not quite. I wouldn’t be surprised if 80% of the content was Bieber, and the rest non stop selection of tweenie music… There’s only so much of it though right? So that means REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT. “Juicebox watchers love to see the same thing a million times.”
And I thought Much Music had gotten bad…

So I’ve got two nieces at home.. Every single Christmas I make them something. Typically a toque to keep them warm in the winter. This is all thanks to a girlfriend in college who taught me how to be an old woman and crochet. Yes I will admit it.
But I really enjoy it, put a lot of time, effort, and pride into making them something (although I don’t know what kid gets that excited about a new hat). Well this year I decided to switch things up a bit.. Make it have a northern flair.. Found a rabbit pelt and this is what I came up with. I think they look great! And can’t wait to see how they look on my girls… One thing I worry about every year though, whether the hats will fit their head…Got my sister to measure their heads this year so I should be good. And surprisingly enough; kids don’t really like to have their heads measured..go figure.
Do you like to do home-made gifts for Christmas…if so what do you do??
